if you are in Album view, and right-click an album to get it highlighted, and then Shift-click another album down the list, it selects all contiguous albums between the two points. This does not work in Playlist View.

Works for me (but I am on EA). However, the second click must be made toward the left of the list. If you click somewhere toward the right it doesn’t work. (I suppose this is the same as the play context menu also appears only toward the left of the list after a left-click)
I thought I had clicked everywhere, but it turns out that if the second click is exactly on the icon for the song, it does work.
It doesn’t work if the second click is on the circular “select” button, though.

Correction: Left-right is not the correct criteria, it’s that it does not work in some columns. E.g., the click does nothing in the Album Artist column but it works further right in the Album column
I can’t find any areas other than the song icon where it works. Intel Mac.

I guess there are some responsive and some unresponsive areas. This works for me, I don’t have to hit the icon. (Apple Silicon, macOS 15.1 but IIRC it was always like this for me):

Interesting. I have now tried every area I can, and only the icon works.

That’s very strange, can’t imagine what the difference would be. Mine it’s a 13“ Air, by the way, and I’m using the built-in trackpad.
The areas where it works seem to be the same ones as those where a left click gives me the play context menu. Does this work for you only on the icon?

This works in the Tracks View, but not inside a playlist. I just realized that I’ve been inside a large playlist this whole time. I’ll go back and edit my comments.
