Likely you just prefer Naims amplification it’s far from neutral which isn’t a bad thing it’s just different to the Matrix. I noticed how different it was when I changed amps this year.
Not really I spent less on my upgrades. Not all upgrades means more money if you’re shrewd about it.
No, not really. I was running the Matrix into a NAP110 at the time, same as I was before with a Naim UQ that was off for repair, so the amp really doesn’t have anything to do with the sound difference. No, I preferred a microRendu via the Matrix’s USB vs the onboard streamer. When I got the UQ back I preferred the sound of it better all around so the Matrix was sold (and since then the UQ and 110).
Yeah, I’m not really a gear collector. My downfall is content: music, videos, books. Particularly reference books. Technical encyclopedias, how-to books, rules of thumb, formulas, algorithms, cookbooks, volume libraries, systems analysis, linguistics, rhetoric, spaceflight dynamics, etc. etc. etc.
