Should Windows be able to see my DAC via Ropiee?

I have no problem at all connecting to my DAC via Roon, so Ropieee is doing what it’s supposed to do there. However, I can’t output to my DAC for any of my other applications as Windows can’t see it - I’m assuming this is because of Ropieee acting as some sort of intermediary. Is there anything I can do, or should I just be running an optical cable to the DAC and treating them as completely separate outputs?

Hi Justin,

As your DAC is connected to a RoPieee unit that’s on the network there’s no way your Windows system can ‘see’ your DAC.

If you want your DAC to be available to your Windows system you need to physically connect it.
