AllMusic is very hit or miss with grouping non-classical works/compositions and crediting the composer on different releases/versions of an album, even with the same track list.
I find myself having to select multiple versions through trial and error until I hit one that assigns the composer credit so that the track is correctly added to the work/composition relationship.
Since it doesn’t seem like we’re close to having alternate metadata sources, a helpful stop gap would be being able to see which versions have more “complete” tags before selecting one.
