I have tags for each shelf of my old CD storage, which were loosely chronological as CDs were bought from 2002 on.
I choose one of these shelf tags and select, view tracks. I then deselect those played in the last year and click play all. This brings up the thumbs up/ down screen and I go through this of an hour or 2s worth of music and then select shuffle.
Selecting B-6 gives me albums purchased pre-2002 and today it has chosen
