Showing (off) your Roon setup - description and photos [2025]

I can’t answer your question properly, sorry, as I don’t really know

What I can tell you is it is ‘KPMF Airelease -premium air release liner’ I bough it from a local place that primarily does cars. It was £17 for 1m x 1.5 (whatever the roll width was) and I think that included the scalpel and spreader thing

I’d describe it as tacky, a bit like a post it note but more so, if that makes sense? It was easy to apply and smooth out, if I needed to adjust it, it just peeled off and I could re place it with no apparent loss of adhesion or any residue left behind. I didn’t need to heat it at all and it folded into the creases on the panels and stayed there. The guy at the shop said the air release has micro channels in it that allow bubbles to be pushed out - and that worked very well

I hope that helps

No No No. The problem is not the speaker size. The problem IS the TV is too small. Upgrade to a 77in minimum TV and all will look proportional. It will look fantastic.

Nevermind, those speakers are humongous… Good Luck.

I was perfectly happy with my office setup; but hey, what’s that got to do with anything?
Replaced my SMSL sp200 headphone amp with an SMSL h400 pre/headphone amp. The turntable sounds better feeding into that than into the Matrix i3 mini.

My “newest” Roon rig.
Bought a small pair of Audioengine powered speakers B stock direct from them at a very decent savings.
Feeding it with an older than the hills Sony DVD player for shiny disc time and hiding around the back one of my “old faithful” Google Chromecast pucks for Roon action.
Totally exceeded my expectations.
Shocking bass and mid output for such tiny drivers.
Well chuffed😇

I really enjoyed the Grimm MU2. But something came along that I couldn’t resist: the Rockna Wavedream Reference Signature. Of course, it’s a Roon Endpoint, so Roon is back on the NUC.
What a machine and what a sound, incredibly good. So it’s now a permanent resident in my setup.

Very impressive. Do you have any direct comparison with the HiFi Rose 151 DAC? I know they’re not in the same price range, but still good (technically) parameters.

Nope

Room acoustics are very good. RT60

Sorry, never heard the Rose.

Not for his bank account!

Still liking my Devialet Expert 120 with my ATC SCM19s very much. A few months ago we moved to a new town flat and placing the speakers properly was quite a challenge. We moved them around quite a bit till we were satisfied, both sonically and aesthetically.

Hi DBT! I’m one of the people that started the discussion about Roon vs Qobuz Connect SQ, and I couldn’t believe how long it lasted! Most of my posts were under “Hidden Comments “I found out today. I put a lot of likes on your posts from earlier this year. I am not an electrical engineer or a big tester but you articulated my thoughts better than anyone and more than held your own in the discussion and did it in a very respectful way even though at times you were disrespected.Kudos to you for that because I hear the same thing as you. I wish there was way to contact you but I don’t know how or if you will even see this post. I do love your system and probably a few steps behind you on this journey.Hang in there DBT,Jay

Hello James,

I really appreciate your kind words and sharing your experience with Qobuz Connect vs. Roon SQ. At least you had the same experience! Those guys wore me out. Lol…. The guys are hardcore in their comments about subjective hifi topics. Their focus is measurements and that mindset can create a bias as well, just as those who think expensive gear automatically sounds better than lesser expensive gear. These guys need to conduct blind tests and determine if they can hear a difference. To them, all bit-perfect music players sound the same.

Thanks for the compliments on my Hifi setup! I wanted to see what you had, but not sure how to navigate this Roon site to find your gear and pics?

Thanks again!
