My room length is 23 feet and I’m sitting 13’ from the front wall. So, I’m not sitting within 38% of the room length.
It can be hard to do that relative to speaker placement from the front wall and the required sitting distance from the speakers for best possible performance.
My rack is 16” from the front wall and that’s as far as I can place it in order to maintain clean cable management.
I forgot to mention the gear:
Wilson Audio Sabrina X
Aurender N20
MSB Discrete DAC - 2 power supplies
D’Agostino Progression integrated
English Electric 8Switch
English Electric network isolator
Acoustic Zen cable loom
Audioquest power cable loom
Audioquest Niagara 3000
Yah, 23ft makes it pretty tough, I’ve got 30ft length and I’m sitting at 40% approximately. I started closer to 50%, I found as I moved closer and toed in more the soundstage really blossomed and the speakers were fuller sounding.
Curious to what you mean by this? Its a dedicated space (it would appear), you can position everything without compromise, no (especially spkrs)? Nice space!
That’s a nice length that you have for you setup. I wish my room was longer, but I’m thankful to have a dedicated space. Your Sabrina’s look like they may be the same color as mine. They are good speakers and sound shockingly huge! I’m planning to trade mine for a pair of Sasha V’s. This should be my last speaker purchase for many years.
I was responding to the question asking if I was sitting 38% of the room length. It is not possible for me to sit 38% of the room’s length given the length of the room and the best placement of my speakers from the front wall and my seating position that gives me the best performance. My speakers sounded best about 3’ from the front wall while sitting about 11’ from the speakers. That puts me beyond the 38% rule that I was asked about.
The front of mine are just under 6ft from the front wall with the longer room and I’m sitting 8.5 ft from each speaker with 7.5ft between centers of the speakers.
I did it. I replaced my McIntosh tube preamplifier C2700 > Burmester 256 MK2 power amplifier with the new Burmester 232 integrated amplifier. I just want to have fewer devices.
I had the phono module installed, but not the DAC / streamer. The ROON approval has been pending for months, but with my experience at A&K in connection with a ROON approval, I decided not to go for it. The Meitner MA3 also does a great job.
Thanks!
The chairs are for enjoying the view with a cup of coffee, they might be a kind of absorber too, but that’s not intended. As it’s our living room, it’s all about compromises.
