Miracles still happen! I always had a mains hum in my active speakers. I found a reference to this device in another forum, ordered it, tested it, and I’m thrilled! Crystal-clear sound with no interference!

My friend (with the wavy diffusers shown previously ) has a terrific workshop including a CNC
We’d previously converted three of my 600x1220x50 Rockwool absorbers into abfusers, which worked really well - one of which ended up on the ceiling, approximately at the first reflection point
I’ve now added two similar 4mm ply diffuser-only panels in front and behind it, giving a 1220 x1800 panel overall
This dodgy contraption was my proof of concept; some corrugated plastic floor protector, (very) roughly cut to mimic the existing panel
As it was very light I could hold it up with tape and quickly/easily A/B the sound - worked a treat!
Now I know why my wife prefers headphones
I always wondered why she bought me a pair of HD800 when I retired
Haha, yes - fair point
I’m lucky to have a room mine (wife) rarely goes into, so it can be as weird (ugly) as I like
I wish , I don’t even have speakers these days , my Quad ESL didn’t like the rarefied atmosphere at 1600 m in Johannesburg , they gave up and I did too , nothing really matched up.
We had a full 5.1 with speakers for a while but now live on a Samsung Soundbar , its OK but not like the real thing !!
Hence an obsession of collecting headphones
I had 2905s, which I modified with fairly exotic Caps (Jantzen and Mungdorf Silver/Gold), WBT silver posts, silver wiring etc - all in a bid to improve clarity and give a little more top end as my hearing tailed off
The mods worked very well, they were my ‘forever speakers’ - but I’ve got a pair of Focal Diablo Utopia now, which are far better than the Quads in every respect, bar the bass. But as I run separate bass channels, that’s not an issue

Roy must have liked that very much.
Thanks…
The bass traps are 16 inch “IsoThermal Tube Traps” from Acoustic Science Corp. They don’t come with the stands. I bought aftermarket plant stands to sit them in.
This is the latest iteration of my combination of 2 channel and 5.2 channel room. Adding room treatments (bass traps on either side of the screen, under the screen and on rear walls and ceiling, together with diffusers on ceiling above the listening positions. I had to remove two combination bass traps/diffusers from the first point of reflection from the near sidewalls as it sucked out too much bass.g
Very good soundstage now, with excellent tight bass response.

The Roon server is virtualised Ubuntu running on top of Solaris on an intel xeon with approx 16tb of usable zfs storage split over ssd and spinning rust and 128gb ram.
Nice setup. I’m hoping that you would kind enough to provide an English translation of the paragraph quoted above.
Thanks!
Keep all the high end (pricy) audio stuff between the roon endpoint and the speakers.
Keep all the proper IT gear between the digital music file and the Roon endpoints.
Dont use wireless ever anywhere in your signal path. Use roon server hardware that’s fit for purpose. Not your MacBook/windows pc/ roon nucleus.
Don’t agree.
All my endpoints are wireless and rock solid. I live in a small town without much congestion and solid wireless gear.
That said reliable performant wireless can be hard to achieve.
That’s a distinct advantage for wireless reliability but even then, in rural locations, the presence of power lines also causes problems for many.
For the Urban user there are many other issues affecting wireless reliability including those mentioned above. Fortunately I am in a similar location to yours but I still rely on ethernet for the long term stability it offers.
I ran Ethernet right to my equipment in my new listening room but do wireless for isolation since it’s reliable.
It would be a lot worse living on the equator.
