It looks similar to a decoration called a Cloche, google on:

There might be a DIY option vs custom.

That was my initial approach but I either couldn’t find the right size, it had no ventilation holes or it cost more than the custom solution I ended up with (£100)

I am still looking into it, they sound pretty good without a sub though.

Yes please, details would be appreciated, my phones (SR-507) need a cover :pray:t5:

I got mine from Suffolk Glass
Their shipping cost was reasonable and the packaging excellent, if you like the design of mine then hopefully they will have a record of exactly what they did? I have messaged you my details, if you need any dimensions let me know.

Yes, Honiton, near Exeter.

Great, many thanks, sizes will probably need to be different as the Sigmas are much “wider.” :+1:t4:

Just keeping it simple. In the cabinet on the left there is a SBooster powered NUC going to a Schiit Eitr (yes, you pronounce it exactly like that  ) and then directly into the Dynaudio Focus 60 XD with a digital coax cable.

Long narrow room (speakers on wall 3.2 metres wide, listening position 5 metres away).

Speakers are Jordan Aurora 800 - unconventional design but give the most natural sounding, wide and deep stereo image I have heard - and it doesn’t vary if you move away from the ‘sweet spot’ (http://www.ejjordan.co.uk/blog/). Roon core on Mac Mini / USB Hard Drive which sits upstairs, Bluesound Node 2 acts as endpoint and drives amplifiers from … here.

Vinyl goes into line input of Node 2. Wish that Roon could take a line input as source (@brian) so that I could apply filters in Roon (although, having said that, I’m finding myself going back to no room correction the more I listen). Interestingly, testing Dirac with my previous speakers (active floor standers) made a reasonable improvement. With the Jordan Auroras Dirac was much worse - ruined the wide and deep stereo image.

Found this on amazon:

How do these dimension compare to yours? Plymor say they have similar items and 33 sizes.
want make sure I get a workable size.

I think Crate and Barrel have something at least in the USA

My glass dome is 10 inches (25cm) diameter and 14 inches (35cm) height, do not forget ventilation holes top and bottom very important in my view.

Why are they important?

maybe for humidity build up?

@wizardofoz Exactly, although only my opinion.

just need to install dust filters in the holes…
Or throw a desiccant pack in there…

Jordan loudspeakers! Is that the same Jordan that used to advertise 20+ years ago in HiFi News magazine, selling full range drive units with metal cones?

It’s the company founded by Ted Jordan - and he did develop metal cone full range drive units. Ted died in 2016 but the company continues. The current drive unit - Eikona 2, launched in 2013 - is manufactured for Jordan by Skanspeak.

Ted Jordan (if you read some of his wireless world articles online) was experimenting with reflectors back in the 1960s. The Aurora was, I believe, his last design. When I first saw it - wall mounted with speakers facing each other rather than put towards the listener - I thought that it couldn’t possibly work - but it does!
