Shuffle function doesnt work for whole library

I have been using the shuffle option to play from my whole library for several years now wiht no problem.
Last week for no reason it stopped. I went into play functions but there is no option for whole library but I enabled all shuffle functions but to no avail.
Why is this and does anyone else experience this. I use shuffle for my workout and it is great feature.

Just to be clear on the steps you’re taking:

1. Navigate to the Tracks menu in Roon
2. Click the dropdown arrow next to ‘Play All’
3. Select Shuffle.
   
   

Please describe what occurs when you try the above.

What are the specific steps you’re taking, if different than these?

If I am on the album page and do Shuffle, it only grabs about 6k files.

In roon I use this approach. it has always worked for years. I also use the same approach for albums. Nothing has changed on my system

Shuffle 5K track limit

We shuffle everything but only add 5000 to the queue. Is there any practical reason why you’d want more? If you had 20000 tracks, you’ll get a random 5000. Same as if you added all 20000 shuffled and listened to the first 5000 or fewer. There are technical reasons we limit this, but it really shouldn’t matter. If you have any reasons (beyond “just because”), I’m willing to hear them.

I also tried using the tracks as you show. Interesting I thought you had given me a solution BUT it played 3 random tracks and then just stopped. No logic and what is maddening is that this shuffle function has worked fine for years

I tried this, for the first time ever, and it didn’t work. It put 5000+ albums in a queue, but just played the first 6 or 8 tracks with no regard to the queue and no shuffle. It was playing tracks from the first alphabetical album in my Roon library and no other.

Evidently, it’s working. I think I was clicking the wrong Play button after clicking Shuffle.

Hello I have found my own resolution. For information it related to the sound quality . If i kept it at FLAC as opposed to 192 the functions worked. I have a non weird connection to my PC for the upstairs KEF active speakers. It clicked when an album stopped playing which was at 192 quality
