Describe the issue
I have a Roon nucleus B. Over the last month using it from any controllers (laptop, tablet, IPhone, etc) I can usually play music to begin with but as soon as I switch to another album or song there is a lag/delay that can take 5+ minutes for the command to process.
I will see pops up such as audio is processing, this may take a minute (or something g very similar to that. I can wait 20 minutes and still nothing plays.
I have searched through any relevant forum topics with no success. I did read the issue may be router setting, so I changed it to “static” and this made no improvements.
This problem is the same whether I use Roon through a PA audio server plugged in to my DAC, streaming directly to my main system DAC (MSB streaming DAC) or streaming from a headphone amp/streamer/DAC.
All devices are plugged in to the Ethernet, so it’s not a WiFi issue.
I purchased the nucleus new about 5 yrs ago. SN 54B2039BA2A9. It wouldn’t work and crashed when I installed it. The vendor I purchased it from helped me troubleshoot it and generated a warranty ticket through Roon and the hard drive was found faulty. Roon sent me a replacement which I installed and it worked great up until about two months ago.
I’m able to stream to my devices directly with no issues using QOBUZ directly (not through Roon).
I’ve rebooted the Roon multiple times and it makes no difference.
When a track IS playing, it will pause intermittently for minutes at a time.
Thank you in advance for any assistance. I am not the most tech savvy individual. Many of the Roon help topics speak in a vernacular that makes my head spin
Describe your network setup
Ethernet provider is BTC (Bixby telephone service).
From the Ethernet connection in the wall the 1st device is a ZyXEL VMG4005. I don’t know what it’s called.
It then connects via Ethernet cord to Calix GigaSpire model u6xw. It then connects via to the wall with the Ethernet wires throughout the house.
In an adjacent room the wall has Ethernet which connects to a Nordost Qnet switch which in turn connects to the music devices (DAC, Roon Nuclues, Streamer)
Prior to the Nordost switch is a Linksis SE 3005 signal booster.
