Having same issues with SimAudio MOON ACE. Used to be able to control volume file via ROON apps. Now since a few days, stuck in “Volume control is fixed”. Seems that either an update or something on the ROON side changed as my firmware (1.20 ACE and 1.13 MiND) from MOON has been applied 2 weeks ago and was working fine.
In house also have a few bluesound powernode that I am still able to control volume.

Hi. I am experiencing the same issue with a Moon MiND2.
So got to look into the issue and it was just the sync between the MiND and the ROON that got off sync. Called MOON and they say this could happen mostly when upgrading either ROON or MOON.
What fixed my issue was to cut power to the MOON ACE for 2-3 minutes. Then power back on, rebooted my CORE and bingo. ROON saw my ACE once again.
