Simple Fixes for Better Tidal Playlist Navigation

Hey guys,

I’ve noticed several discussions online regarding the sorting of the order of Tidal playlists.
Based on your replies the Tidal API seems not to support any sorting therefor you can’t add this feature.
Unfortunately, without this option the usage of larger playlists is quite uncomfortable. From my understanding most user mostly want to have the option to quickly listen to the last added tracks.

From my point of view there are some low hanging fruits to sort this issue.

  1. At the moment, playlists are displayed by default so that the most recently added tracks appear last. You could simply reverse the sorting order and start from there.
  2. Since Roon creates an internal database on the respective server anyway, it is easy to simply add your own sequential ID to the local storage and sort using this.
  3. The music albums feature a slider at the side that allows you to scroll through the album very quickly. Same feature in the playlists would also help a lot as you wouldn’t have to scroll for ages before you get to the end.

Cheers,

BK
