Simple question: Do I have Roon Valence if I do not subscribe to ANY streaming service?

I am confused. I don’t have Qobuz, Tidal, or ANY streaming service. I only use Roon with my owned music.

Do I get the benefits of Valence and algo-radio? Or is this only available to subscribers of some other service?

Valence requires that you be subscribed to at least one of the two streaming services (Qobuz and Tidal).

If you only use Roon with your own local music, then Roon Radio will still work (just using your library content), but you won’t see any of the Valence features such as “In their Prime”, “Collaborators” or “Top Performers”.

Subscribe for trial period and then cancel your subscription.
You’ll be able to see streaming content in Roon, but won’t be able to play it.

Hi Ar9,

To further Geoff’s point:

If you only use Roon with your own local music, then Roon Radio will still work (just using your library content), but you won’t see any of the Valence features such as “In their Prime”, “Collaborators” or “Top Performers”.

Roon Radio will base its choices on the pre-Valence Roon Radio code, so, Valence will not be used in making Roon Radio selections.
