SINCE ROON UPDATE 2.56 problems with remote when clicking on album playing link [Fix in Early Access]

I forgot to mention that clearing the image cache does not solve the problem. I am trying to get to the album for the song I am listening to. I click on the album cover either on my playlist having that song or click on the album cover where you see the words to the song. Roon just shuts down. Thank you.

Somehow I get the feeling that Roon staff consider this a very low priority problem…on the Harman site it says “We Are Transforming Everyday Moments Into Extraordinary Experiences”.

But who am I, just one of the users of Roon providing all staff with bread, butter and more.

Let’s wait and see if anything comes from this. Thanks for the support staff’s support. This is obviously beyond their reach. I am only worried that the venerable development staf queue will take a long time.

For now I wish everyone good listening. The bottom line is that it is about the musical emotion.

I hope that’s not the case in reality. This is a very annoying bug for the user and occurs frequently when using the application.

I just updated my Roon Server (MacBook Air M4) and Mac OS Roon Remotes to Mac OS 26.1.

I can confirm with certainty that this OS update did nothing to solve this crashing issue.

Noticed this morning the crash when selecting the album from the now playing is no longer happening on Windows and IPAD remotes. Nothing has changed here. Was this a back end server issue?

Edit: happening again today, no idea why it skipped a day.

Hi Norris,
Maybe chris.harley describes a separate issue.
He gets MAC crashes and stalling Android when searching for tracks. In my humble opinion this is completely different from the main crasching when clicking on an URL in remote (all platforms involved: Windows 11, Linux, Android, Chromebook, MAC OS, iOS, iPAD OS)

P.s. is the 2.57 earlyaccess difficult to install? Else I am willing to try.
I also (by coincidence because I was waiting for new SODIMM’s) have one PC with Remote 2.55 still on it. No problems there.
