Diagnostics indicate that Siri may be attempting to load quad or surround content instead of stereo content in ARC and failing; as a result, ARC resolves the voice request to the next available stereo track by the same or similar artist in the sort order.
We’ll attempt to reproduce this particular issue in-house.
In the meantime, as an A/B test, create a playlist that is entirely comprised of locally-stored, mono or stereo content. Download this playlist locally to ARC on your phone storage. Make sure nothing else is downloaded to the phone for offline playback in ARC.
Placing ARC in offline mode, sync to CarPlay and attempt to use Siri to load any of the tracks in this locally-downloaded playlist.
Theoretically, ARC should only have access to the stereo content, and the requested track will play, not another random track by the same artist.
