Describe the issue

Lately I am experiencing slow, sluggish and freezing behaviour of the Roon remote app. First on both Android and Mac, now (after descaling analisys of the files in my library) mainly on my Mac. For instance: clicking on my albums, I see 2800 albums, without covers, not clickable on my screen. When I choose Artists, I see all my artists immediately, clicking on them is responsive, even selecting the specific dicography of that artists. Going back to albums: same freezing behaviour and no cover art visible (only grey tiles). On my Android its better but often it can be very unresponsive.

Describe your network setup

FritzBox 7581(internet only)-Wired to Asus ZenWifi XT12 pro setup as a router. Endpoints: Lyngdorf TDAI-3400 (wired), MacBook Air 2020 (WiFi), Google Pixel 9 Pro Max (WiFi). Wifi mostly 544Mb/s.

Thanks for the report. Can you please confirm how your Roon Server is connected to the network in your setup, is it connected directly to the Asus router? I’ve activated diagnostics for your account and it looks like your ROCK has quite a lot of network reset errors listed for it.

We have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?

Thanks @noris! Forgot that one. I have a NUC (8/i5/64Gb) connected wired to the Asus. I will try a different DNS and come back here with the results.

I’m really sorry you’re having trouble reaching your router. I’d love to help, but since we didn’t produce the router, our ability to assist is a bit limited. That said, if there’s anything we can do to point you in the right direction, please let us know!

Fixed it! The IP address is working. Can you see improvement also on my ROCK?
Unfortunately I closed this topic too soon. Didn’t solve the slowness issue. Roon freezes on my Mac.
