The time it takes to connect my Zen server to the network is 3-4 minutes. Previously it was <1 min. I turned off "search iTunes" under Roon "Storage" directory, but it made no difference. Could the RAAT.exe file be corrupted?
Describe your network setup
My Zen server is hardwired to the network. I have tp Link router 3 feet from the server that is also hardwired. My DAC (Nuprime IDA-8) is hardwired to the server.
My Roon core is a 2024 Macbook Air that communicates via WiFi.
Diagnostics indicate that the Innuos is still running a RoonServer instance in the background after migrating to the MacBook.
Let’s first refresh conditions by finishing the migration and deleting the old server instance. On the Zen (not on the MacBook currently serving as your RoonServer), take the following steps:
Hi Connor,
Your response directs me to search the database on the Zen and not on the laptop, but when I search the database in the Zen music storage folder, I can’t find the Roon folder. Please indicate the path for finding the folder destined to be deleted.
As instructed, I renamed the folder called RoonServer to RoonServer_old, powered up and connected my MacBook Air via ethernet, turned off the WiFi connection and VPN server. Next I booted my Zen server, waited 4 minutes for successful connection to my home network, verfied that a new RoonServer folder had been created, and clicked on Roon (RoonServer). I was unable to open Roon after trying for 5 minutes. Please advise.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but as I noted in my response above to Connor 3 h ago marked “Solution”, which I interpret to mean the issue is resolved, it remains unresolved.
Thanks for the follow-up! Based on your account information, I believe your issue may be linked to having two different subnets within your local network.
If possible, can you review your router settings and review the IP list of your active devices including the Zen and Macbook? It looks like your zen is tied to 10.0.0.yyy so I’d make sure your MacBook follows the same scheme.
It may also be worth getting in touch with the Zen manufacturers directly if your issue is directly related to the machines start up/connection time.
Using WiFi detective, an App that is included in my TP-Link extender software, I have 11 different devices running of which 8 are classified as “Unknown Device”. What do you advise I do next?
Do I understand correctly that the delay with the Zen on boot up is due to the time it needs to interrogate each of the 8 “unknown” IP addresses before connecting? If so, do you advise manually blocking each IP address to identify which one should NOT be blocked?
