SO what would you use?

Im looking at using a Khadas Tone Board DAC, which will be battery powered, via large battery.

I have a choice,

1… Use my i5 Roon Core NUC as an endpoint (Ubuntu 18 Desktop), with the Khadas plugged into the USB

or option

  1. Use my existing Pi3 (Ropiee) with Allo Digi+ feeding into SPDIF of the Khadas Tone Board…

The Khadas Tone Board output, will then feed into my Analogue input of my Onkyo Amp.

Which do you honestly think will work, sound the best?

They will probably sound different with USB taken out of the equation but it is hard to predict which you might prefer.
