Since this is the feature request forum I would like to adress some small interface inconveniences with Roon.
First, it would be nice to have a doubleclick function to play a music file directly without having to click on the pop-up screen first since most of the time direct play is the preferred action. The pop-up screen could stay if I want other playback options like que/add to playlist etc.
Second, since I’m using the remote software on my macbook it would be very convenient if Roon would respond to general OSX touchpad gestures. Specially browsing back and forth between pages with a two finger swipe to left or right is much more convenient then moving the mouse to the arrow in the upper left corner everytime.
Third, when clicking on the “artist” that is playing now (in the playback area down on the screen) it would be more logical to get into the Artist page directly and when clicking on the “album” title to go to the album page directly.
All these suggestions are based on navigating the so=ftware with the least mouse clicks possible. Less clicks means more convenience, at least to me.
Last thing is about moderating access. I think many like the “open” structure of Roon, meaning that every possible device on your LAN can remotly control the server but for me as someone living with a shared internet connection it would be nice if I can moderate who can get connected and who doesn’t. This could either be in the form of password protecting remote devices or by having the option to allow or deny acces from the main Roon control computer
For the rest, still learning all the ins and outs of the program, enjoying it very much.
