Something big is coming to Roon! šŸ’„

I worked in healthcare IT - we supported 226 hospitals - anyone making non emergency changes in our no fly periods would probably need to make use of those hospitals pretty quick.

The only thing I can imagine is if you want to use Nugs and pay a monthly subscription for their select live music, then you can use the Roon application as an interface to play the live music. Just in the same way you can use the Roon app to play Tidal and Qobuz music. I’m still confused how this is a feature for anyone who doesn’t subscribe to Nugs though. Does anyone else think differently?

It’s not. Just like Tidal support isn’t a feature for those who don’t subscribe to Tidal, and Qobuz isn’t for those who don’t subscribe to Qobuz.

Yeh, exactly. I can only see its benefit if it’s a free service for Roon’s customer base. ps. I’m getting into Sonic Youth and enjoying the Dirty - Sonic Youth and their Sister album. I noticed your username icon. haha. @Suedkiez

I think it’s great that more and more artists and bands are doing this. Some of them use bags that you have to put your phone in, and you can only open them in certain places. I realise this might be a bit much, but it could actually turn out to be a positive thing. At the end of the day, we go to gigs to see the band or artist perform live, not on our phones. I’m not saying we should ban things, just hoping for a change in the way live events are enjoyed.

Have you ever seen the movie - Back to the Future? Time Machine mate, it’s only way. Let’s all go back to the 80’s and 90’s where not only the acts were raw and exciting, but also the experience at the gig. Anything went back then.

I really don’t think we should go back to the 80s or 90s. I’ve been to some great gigs where I was free to use my phone as I wanted to, and at other gigs they asked me not to, and I’ve enjoyed both experiences. I just personally don’t want to see or hear things through the phone when I’m there. I have to say, I love watching YouTube videos of gigs I haven’t been to, or even ones I have been to. So no judging or technology denialist here.

Also Woodstock '69, although tbh I don’t remember a lot of it. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Nor is it of much interest - unless I’m misunderstanding - to those of us who concentrate on ā€˜classical’ music, is it?

it may be a wind up and really its the box set improvements

ARC works very well for me on my android when I access the app directly on the phone, however the integration with Android Auto is pretty much useless. I’'ve got 3500 Albums and 1500 Artists but when I try to access Artist or Albums via Android Auto the only option available to me are Albums or Artists beginning with the letters ā€œBā€ ā€œCā€ or ā€œRā€ Everything else is greyed out.

Curious, can you use Bluetooth vs using CarPlay?

I should have mentioned that I use ARC via an iPhone and CarPlay works quite well with it. I’ve heard that Android Auto leaves much to be desired but haven’t used it myself.
