Hi there, I hope someone can solve the problem for me
I got my Roon core on nas successfully and the audio device was ready(ifi idsd bl as u can see); nevertheless, Roon accidentally can’t detect it. I am pretty sure the audio device is great worked since I had used it on my pc as DAC already.
Hi @Andre_Xiao,
Thank you for your patience in awaiting a response.
I decided to look at diagnostics for your account and have questions. Can you please complete the template below so I may better understand your setup? I’m particularly interested in your modem and router type.
Thanks,
Wes

Hi @Andre_Xiao,
What is your network setup? What is the iFI connecting to?
You mention that you can detect the core, is detecting the core an issue with the remotes? Is this in addition to the iFI not showing up?
Thanks,
Wes
Well, I set my roon core in VM on my nas (i54400+16GB RAM) with truenas os, the nas is connected with my router by cable . My laptop (i58400+8GB RAM) under intranet is able to detect and connect with my roon core; nevertheless, the audio device is not working, it can’t detect no matter the ifi dac nor Bluetooth headphones that I plugged in.
However, everything go well with my desktop (i511400+32GB RAM), it can successfully detect the audio device that I plugged in or connected via Bluetooth (eg. My Bravia in the living room)
You may need to update your Windows USB audio drivers on the non-functional instance.
Here’s something generic from MS with some links to downloads.
- Exit out of Roon
- Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
- Find the folder that says “Roon”
- Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
- Restart/Reinstall the Roon App to generate a new Roon folder
- (Optional) Restore Roon from an even older backup
