When using HQ Player to shuffle-play a playlist, the following issues occur:
My HQP instance is running on a Mac Mini, connected via USB to a Matrix Element X (streamer/DAC/preamp). AFAIK, all software and firmware is up to date. The Mini is running Big Sur (a recent upgrade).

No, I do not see any error message on the HQP side.
After upgrading to 4.13.1 a few minutes ago, the progress bar still does not move. The correct album art is not updated from song to song. However, the playback now does not stop after only one song.
You mean HQPlayer’s progress bar or Roon’s? HQPlayer’s progress bar doesn’t move when playing from Roon, since HQPlayer doesn’t know length of the content. Also no album art or other metadata. When playing from Roon, only “Roon” is shown as the song name. Only Roon side shows progress and metadata.
I’m referring to the progress bar and album art in Roon
(the controller/remote app on my Macbook Pro).
My Roon Core is running on a sonicTransporter i9.
HQP is running on a Mac Mini (Big Sur).
Since Roon uses old API version, check that in HQPlayer main window, displayed time is set to “Time”.
