I updated to the Sonos 2 app three days ago, and everything still worked well with Roon. Suddenly this morning Roon no longer recognized the Sonos speakers. Anyone have a similar experience? Any suggestions?

No issues with Sonos on S2 here. You might want to reboot your core.
