Sonos in trouble? Harman acquisition a possibility?

NO…absolutely not!!!

Why even say they are in trouble? They have some software issues which they will sort out. (Not affecting me btw) I dont understand this comment or the reason for this thread. If this was a website I would call this clickbait.

I don’t disagree. I believe Sonos will solve their software difficulties. My Arc, Sub3, and surrounds work fine.

In fact, I just installed a Sonos Amp to power Klipsch surrounds.I use Sonos for TV and casual listening.

As I said earlier, Sonos will get it right, just not right now.

The Sonos app issue is what prompted me to make the move to Roon. All of my speakers – except for the first one I bought, a Sonos 3 – work fine with AirPlay 2. I want to replace that one with another Sonos unit (I guess) so I can group whatever replaces it with the others. Roon is such a completely and better experience, I wish I’d made the switch sooner.

Yes it is. I stream Roon to Sonos as an endpoint. A little judicious EQ makes it listenable. 2.1 is OK in the living room and my 5.1 files are fun. Again, not my reference system, but not bad.

I am not surprised if Sonos ceased trading. I only have a Sonos Port for streaming music from my own ripped CD library. The interface has been ruined by a recent version upgrade and Sonos appear to be in a panic mode in order to recover their reputation. This was the last straw, I have since upgraded to a Lumin U2 Mini with my music library stored on a Lumin L1 dedicated NAS server.
