Describe the issue

when i start parmetrik eq there is a kind of crack in the sound this happens even without having any correction
then i wonder if the volume when it is on the device volume it sounds worse than set to fixed why

Describe your network setup

fiber in hous router netgaear 100 mb down 25 mb up, totaldac switch I also have a melcon, the same no matter how I connect.

Headroom clipping?

I don’t know but if I haven’t made any settings on the EQ curve then it shouldn’t cut it just because I start the EQ, I have a small grenn Audiphile with Intel 7, I’ve tried adjusting the Headroom but I don’t think it gets any better, rather the sound gets worse overall

Hi @Peder_Jensen,

Thank you for your post. We need a few more details to troubleshoot this thread effectively.

Can you please paste a screenshot of the relevant Signal Path in Roon, as well as the EQ settings you’ve created? Please also share a timestamp or the name of a track that was playing when you last experiencing the phenomenon you’re describing.

Again, we’ll need to know the specific digital signal paths to which your comparison refers. If there’s an audible loss in detail, some element between server and endpoint might be inadvertently compressing or downsampling.

Hi, I’m a little short on time but I’ll try a little more. I have fiber from router to switch, NAS without fiber.
so I’ll make sure to have the same song on NAS and Tidal and compare.
I also have a Roon Rock Nuc in 7.
so I’ll try a little more and see what happens.
I have a lot going on so I hope I have time to get back to you before you close the thread. When I’ve tried and seen what happens, if necessary, I can send over digital patches - but I don’t have any up-down samples.
I’m very happy with Roon and really want an EQ that works without negatively affecting the sound.

Hi @Peder_Jensen,

Certainly let us know how the above goes - and no rush on when you’re able to do so! If the thread auto-closes (this is from the system, not anyone from the Technical Support team) we can easily re-open and merge any additional threads created.

We’ll be monitoring for your results and reply! :+1:
