Sound stops intermittently during playback but track continues (ref#6AVARK)

What’s happening?

· I am experiencing freezes or crashes

Describe the issue

The sound stops but the tracks keep playing, as in I can see the seconds go by – I just can't hear anything. If I pause and play the sound comes back on... and then stops again. Thanks.

Describe your network setup

Naim atom uniti HE, nothing else.

Hi @paul.mj.laborde,

Thank you for your post.

Diagnostics indicate that buffering fails on this Naim endpoint, causing the Signal Path to void.

Does this issue occur if you play a small file, like 44.1KHz / 16-bit Flac files from Qobuz/Tidal? Does the issue reproduce with local tracks as well as streaming tracks?

What protocol are you using with this Zone when you experience these audio dropouts?

We’re going to need a complete picture of this network topology to assist any further from here. Please list the router and its relative position to RoonServer and the Naim Zone, along with any managed hardware in between.

Assuming firmware is up to date on the Naim, buffer issues most commonly arise from bandwidth conflicts, active security, or traffic routing issues on a highly managed network.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for such a quick answer.
The problem has disappeared. It’s true that it happened on a quite hi-end audio file. The issue hasn’t happened with local tracks.

I’m not sure I can give you a “complete picture of the network topology” ahah! Like, I don’t know what you’re referring to. I have the naim connected on wifi and that’s pretty much all I can say.

right now it’s working perfectly!

No problem @paul.mj.laborde. If the problem returns, try connecting via ethernet instead of WiFi and see if that helps. If not, please create a new topic thread and we’ll respond promptly. Thanks!

By network topology, I just mean a list of your network hardware and how it is connected. This includes the router and any switches and whether they use WiFi or ethernet.
