Uncut Gems (2019)
The overall vibe here feels like outer space and often floating. It’s definitely 70’s inspired (a bit like Vangelis.
) There’s also a strong emphasis on moog synth sounds (which I’m usually a sucker for).
The opening track: The Ballad Of Howie Bling (8:26)
Dario Marianelli
with Jean-Yves Thibaudet (piano)
Atonement (2007)
Hummingbird (2013)
It’s not Marianelli’s most accessible score, though it is by no means a difficult one. It may not offer the instant gratification of a strong theme (the folk song being the exception), but those who take the time to sit down and listen to it will be rewarded. (Pete Simons 2013)

Bullet To The Head (2012)
Mostly ‘Southern’ rock/blues in style with drums often dominant to create the ‘rumble’ no doubt imperative to this movie. Regarded as a disciple of Hans Zimmer & was a staff composer in Zimmer Remote Control Productions. Whilst there’s maybe nothing especially new here, it’s better than one might expect for this movie!
Angelo Badalamenti & Normand Corbeli (Composer)
Often I enjoy soundtracks that intersperse spoken word from the movie. This does that, but it’s in German, so it’s meaningless to me & therefore doesn’t work. Given the vocal tracks are frequent, it spoils what may otherwise be strong musically.
Napola Elite Für Den Führer (2005)
Roy Budd
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)
Not an album that works well without the movie, albeit I can’t recall seeing this version of Sinbad.
Bruno Nicolai
Yup, Bruno is one of my favourite Italian composers & I’ve posted many, but I couldn’t find this. Likely, as it’s far from up there with his best scores. Granted Edda Dell’Orso (vocals) is credited on the album, but it’s only track 9 C’Era Una Volta not to be confused with C’Era Una Volta West ,plus a few more!
Quel Gran Pezzo Dell’Ubalda Tutta Nuda E Tutta Calda (1969)
Jerry Goldsmith
Medicine Man (1992)
Without a single wasted or inconsequential cue, Medicine Man is clearly one of Goldsmith’s finest full-album works combining synthesisers and orchestra in a thoroughly original way. Simply put, this incredibly poignant score is a must have for everyone. (Gary S. Dalkin 2004)
The Trees
Henry Mancini
Fear (1990)
I don’t think this makes a good stand alone listen. However, that does not mean it wasn’t an apt score for the film. Mostly made up of short suspenseful pieces to augment the dark nature of the movie.
