Describe the issue

During my last listening session I noted a spinning wheel in the top banner, right-hand corner indicating Roon was processing something.
My previous listening session I has attached a USB drive with 12 or 13 extra tracks. Immediately afterwards I removed the USB. I knew I had to use the Library tab of the Settings in the app before doing so but don’t remember disabling and removing it.
I also added music via my wired LAN but experienced some LAN issues so transferred them via wireless.
I have restarted the Nucleus with and without a USB attached, checked a few threads online (https://community.roonlabs.com/t/adding-music-to-library-trouble/234615 and https://community.roonlabs.com/t/adding-music-to-library-stuck/150938/3 ) but without success.
Please help.

Describe your network setup

Roon Nucleus Rev B w/internal SSD

What does it say if you hover the cursor over the spinning icon (or click it).

“Adding music to library: Of 13 tracks, 13 added, 0 identified.”

Hey @Fred_Reed,

Thanks for sharing your report!

Do you still have it added as a watched folder? What happens if you delete it?

Based on your account information, it seems your Nucleus hasn’t been in touch with our servers for a few days, how do you have it connected to your router/network? Can you setup a direct ethernet connection to your primary router and see if that helps as well?

We’ll be monitoring for your reply :+1:

When I tap the rotating icon I get “Adding music to library: Of 12 tracks, 12 tracks added, 0 identified”.

Under Storage I see only Nucleus Internal Storage. i.e. no other folders like when I add one for the now-removed USB drive. This morning I added another folder with an USB drive, saw the files in Roon, disable it and removed it all without any issues (at least that I can see/understand). But the problem persists.

Under Setup I have cleared the cache.

Under Library I have cleaned it up and see “Clean up 0 deleted files”; “Clean up 0 files that is not Associated with a storage location”, and “Clean up 0 files that are Associated with a disable storage location”. (Don’t know why Roon capitalizes Associated but I repeated it.)

Also under Library the “Background audio analysis speed” is set to “Fast (4 cores)” and stuck on “Analyzing: 0/12”.

I have rebooted my Nucleus and app on my iPad a few times. I even tried re-installing the app.

I did notice some issue with copying files a few days ago.

My Nucleus is always hardwired to the Internet Provider’s wi-fi hub along with my TV which streams Netflix, Prime Video, etc. without any issues. Note that the Internet Provider’s wi-fi hub is hardwired to my optical fibre terminal box located in my home. Also note that my Internet Provider preformed a service check in the area last week without explaining what it was for.

This morning I copied over some files to my Nucleus SSD from my MacBook via RJ/45 without any issues.

Under the About tab I do see “There was an error checking for an update”.

I have screen shots of all settings I tried if they are of use to you.

Benjamin,

What you said eventually reminded me I saw a generic PC/laptop on my network and thinking it was a poaching neighbour, I paused it. Now I know it was my Nucleus. My mistake. Duh!

“Background audio analysis speed” is good, now throttled. And the About tab shows “You have the latest version installed”.

“Adding music to library: Of 12 tracks, 12 tracks added, 0 identified” is still showing.

Also showing is “Metadata improver: paused”.

Still need some assistance.

Apologises for my screw-up on the network connection issue.

Try rebooting your Nucleus (use the Web Administration Interface - use the red power button top right and choose the Reboot option)

That worked! Thank you.

I had rebooted via power switch on Nucleus w/o success but am glad you solved this issue.
