Had upgraded to the latest version (2744).
I can see the RoPieee showing in the Spotify Connect list. I clicked connect, and it shows “Connecting to RoPieee” and then it goes back to previous connection.
I am using DAC HAT on my Raspberry PI.
Yes I’m having this problem too. It was an issue with the previous build, then it was briefly working on 2744. It now seems to have stopped again.
Please use the version number to inform what you’re running: not the build number.
And more in general: I’m more than happy to help out, but a simple “it doesn’t work anymore” doesn’t help me in helping out 
Sorry Harry you’re right, that wasn’t a particularly helpful description of the problem.
The problem was exactly how it was before you fixed it in the last build: you’d try to connect to a device in the Spotify app and it just wouldn’t connect. Occasionally it will flash “Connecting to ” but would actually just pause the music and not connect.
Infuriatingly I’ve also just noticed that it’s an intermittent issue: I’ve just tried it again, having had problems all morning, and it’s now working. sigh.
When it happens again I’ll send feedback.

I’m on RoPieee 2025.02 (2167) [STABLE] and Spotify Connect is not functional for me either. Now I was on a much older version since I’m not a frequent user and it wasn’t working so I thought I’d update. This makes me wonder if it is a Spotify side issue? As a workaround, I’m able to use Airplay. Hope this helps someone!

That’s known. You need to be on latest to have a functional Spotify, due to changes on Spotify’s end.
And yes, even with that release it sometimes does not work for people, but that’s a little bit of a ‘hit and miss’: for me it works 100%.
Same with me. Was running 2024.09 which was working for a long time, then stopped recently (perhaps coincident with Spotify adding lossless?!). Today I upgraded my Ropieeexl to 2025.05… no change; Spotify client “seems” to attach, but does not stream; in fact, it just iterates super fast through the playlist, skipping every song. Very odd.
But you should upgrade to the latest version. Furthermore check if you have Plexamp disabled.
As of today, latest version is 2025.08.2. See https://ropieee.org.

hi, i’m using 2025.10.1 on a Pi4 and have the same problem as described. Ropiee is listed in spotify, connection is ok, trying to play and nothing happens. Reinstall of Ropieee does not help. Roon or dlna connection works without any problem. Plex is disabled.
See the other thread. Known issue, Spotify changed something (again) on their end.
