Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 + Allo DigiOne
Version: RoPieee 2026.05 (3719) STABLE
Problem: Spotify Connect is discovered and selectable from the Spotify app,
but on play every track is skipped immediately, one after another. Never
produces any audio.
Key contrast: AirPlay to the exact same HAT works perfectly. So the audio
output path itself is fine.
Account is Premium. Same behaviour from both the Windows desktop app and the
mobile app, so it is not client-specific.
Already checked and ruled out:
- Audio HAT overlay: Allo DigiOne/DigiOne Signature (correct)
- ALSA detects the card: snd_allo_digione,
longname “Allo DigiOne HiFi wm8804-spdif-0”, no hardware mixer
- librespot output set to that HAT
- Volume Control tried as both None and Software
- Volume Normalisation off, Autoplay off
- All other services (UPnP, Squeezelite, Snapcast, Plexamp, NAA) disabled;
only librespot (and later AirPlay for testing) enabled
- System clock accurate to ~1.5 s, so no TLS time-skew issue
- LAN: 0% packet loss, wired 1Gbps full duplex
- Outbound WAN from the Pi works (this feedback upload succeeded)
- From the same subnet, ap-gew4.spotify.com:4070, apresolve.spotify.com:443
and audio-fa.scdn.co:443 are all reachable
- No IPv6 on this network, and the Spotify hosts have no AAAA records
Could you check the librespot log for why it fails to start playback?
