Squeezelite client with MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00

Hi,

sometimes after rebooting RoPieee it is shown as a new Squeezelite client with MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00. I experienced this with other operating systems in the past and it seems to happen if Squeezelite starts before the network connection is ready. A fix could be to pass the MAC address to Squeezelite with the -m parameter. It‘s annoying when this happens because as a new player all player settings like alarms etc. are not applied.

This cannot happen: Squeezelite is started only after the network connection is up.

How does your setup look like? Wired or wireless?

It‘s three Pi 4 - all wireless. I switched from a custom installation to Ropieee and this morning the issue appeared after rebooting all Pis.

Can you send me feedback of one of those units when it happens?

And it is still very strange: mac addresses of interface(s) are there, even if the connection is not setup. Unless the software uses a rather primitive way of fetching the mac address…

I‘ll update here of it happens again. Thank you!

Hi @MichaelS ,

Small update: I’ve implemented the ‘-m’ switch, it will be delivered in the next release.

Thanks
