Done. No change on remote…
Feedback afb9e53226434307

Harry the screen froze again after one track…I’m playing to several zones tho so wonder if that could be an issue. Primary zone is the XMC one. And its happened again just now stuck on the first track it was playing when it came back after a restart

This is frustrating…

But ok. So for some reason the separate parts work, but not the complete solution.
Can you reboot first?

Then login, run the following command, and hit the play pause button a few times.

journalctl -f -u irexec

Done. Same bevahvior. Feedback e20dbf884752d2b8

But do you have the output of command mentioned?

Oops sorry…

I’m on a 3B+ would that make a difference?

Phil

Nope. And the remote control is working, the command that goes up higher in the chain is working, but the sum of this alll isn’t. Let’s do some checks:

ls -al /etc/lirc/irexec.lircrc
cat /etc/lirc/irexec.lircrc
systemctl status irexec

Here ya go…

Initial test configuration for systemwide irexec service.

Note that the system-wide service is useful only in corner-cases.

Most scenarios are better off with a session service as described in the

Configuration Guide. However, note that both can also be combined.

Also note that the system-wide service runs without a terminal. To

check the output generated use something like

‘journalctl -b0 /usr/bin/irexec’. This service just echoes some keys

commonly available.

Bingo!

There you have it. That’s not right. But it at least explains things

Can you do the following:

yes | pacman -Syu lirc-ropieee
systemctl restart irexec
cat /etc/lirc/irexec.lircrc

Bingo is right! Now it’s working great!

Thanks for all your help!

Phil…

Nice!

Ok, thank you for your patience

Enjoy!

You’re most welcome! thanks for your tenacity!

Phil

@spockfish since I removed the USB DAC from one display and am using another ropieee zone with IQAudIO DAC PRO hat, despite all the correct zone info etc, restarts and re auth of the extn I am still only getting the first maybe 30 secs or so of display updates then its frozen with the same data until I restart the display rip unit or restart the extn in the web GUI… maybe you green something from this…its running on a rpi supplied power brick

Can’t read the archive.

This is weird, because this is the second time this happens with an archive coming from you.
This suggests that the SD card is screwed, but I’m wondering why.

Might swap it out then I guess…have some spare cards so not to hard aside from taking it all apart

@spockfish Ok trying another RPi setup and its the same thing… display shows up but track just sits there with the title scrolling (if needed) but play stuck at the position it was when it connected. 71e05b678243f984

Update OK same thing different SD card reflagged it latest build and Roon is B360 another feedback here d269977675a92c87

First one I can’t read (again).

The second I can. I think you hit the bug in Roon Core. Can you reboot your core for me?

Harry, for reason it just stopped working…
I checked the irw and it is working. I also checked the commands and they don’t work any more.

Any thoughts?
Phil

I think I figured it out… I have zones grouped and it seems you can’t pause/skip a grouped zone…

Has it always been that way?

Phil
