Standing Pat With Audio Setup

After over nine years of upgrading and tweaking my audio systems, I have not made any changes to my systems in well over a year. I have tried Apple Music, iTunes, Audirvana, Tidal, multiple DAC’s and streamers, all sorts of cables, and a bunch of different add on devices. I’ve spent significant time and some money getting the WIFI in my home stable. I have settled on using Roon/Qobuz for playing music that I own as well as for streaming. I am pleased with the sound quality and the stability of my current setup stereo and AVR setups.

I know that I might be able save some money by ditching Roon and switching back to Apple Music or using Spotify Connect, but at this point I’m going stick with what I have. I can deal with the technology, but for the time being I don’t want to mess with fixing something that was not broken. It has been liberating to not be fiddling with gear and settings and to be able to just listen to and enjoy the music. Does anyone else feel the same way?

More or less. Saying that I am trying to cut back on the kit I have as have too many zones and kit everywhere . I want to find a solution that’s more portable but gives me the same quality rather than have fixed ones in each place, this is purely for headphones. Main systems are done and dusted and very happy with no urge for upgrades.

Sometimes it is not about having what we want but about WANTING WHAT YOU HAVE.

I think liberating is exactly the right word :+1:

Like yourself, I have been ‘fiddling’ for a decade or so, and have seen some major upgrades in that time. But the last couple of years have been ‘quiet’, and I’ve been focusing on music first for a while now. I now feel free to just enjoy the music :grinning:
