Start track playing from a preset time … like iTunes

Back when I used iTunes there was a feature, that I believe was in their metadata section, to alter the playback of a track. The feature allowed you to go into the tracks’ metadata section to set a specific time from where the track would start or end. This was very useful for live tracks that maybe had a long introduction. You could set the track to begin at 1:13 and it would always start playing from there. You could also do the same at the end of the track, seting a time in the track where it would stop playing, allowing you to bypass several minutes of audience applause.

One last feature that iTunes had was called Join Tracks. If an album had a track list where two or more songs should be played together, like a suite, like the Abbey Road Medley, you could join those tracks so that they would never play out of order. This is great if you use playlists and like to shuffle a playlist, or listen to an album on shuffle. If you shuffled Abbey Road, it would garuntee that Mean Mr. Mustard was always followed up by Polythene Pam, instead of say Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.

Thanks for taking the time to read this request!

I can’t help you with the former… I don’t think anybody can.

But in the case of the latter, you can use Roon’s multi part composition grouping functionality, which is what is used in classical recordings and theatrical recordings.
