Startup volume for Pi with RoPieee & HiFiBerry HAT

Hi everyone,
Is there any way to set the startup volume for RoPieee with Hifiberry hat, I’m not using Roon.
It starts up at 100% and if you use and set the volume lower that’s fine until you re-start the pi and then it’s back to 100% again.
I love this software, it works very well but starting at 100% seems a bit strange, even possibly dangerous if connected to a power amp.

Thanks.

Bob.

What service are you using. This will determine if the following might work:
Go to the RoPieee WebUi look in the services tab and see if you have the option for initial volume like this:

I think this would do it? Try it and see. Looks like not all of them have this feature.
There is also the choice of volume control being hardware vs software that might help?

What HAT are you using? There might be something there, also?

Hi bearFNF,

I’m learning already that you’re a really helpful person. Thank you.

In services, I’m only using UPnP/DLNA with hardware volume control for analogue out cards and software volume control for spdif output. Unfortunately, I can’t see any option for start up volume, it’s the only draw back I’ve found for this software.

Thanks again.

Bob.

I run into this issue when using my headphone amps with DACs that do not have volume control. I just got in the habit of turning the volume on the amp all the way down when done listening. This is also just best practice when plugging-in and unplugging the headphones. I even bought a simple pre-amp for volume control on one system and a “splitter” with individual volume pots for another system.
