How do I stop Roon from eliminating duplicate albums in my library? I often hvae more than one version of an album because it has an alternate track selection or is a vinyl hi-fi pressing, or is different in some way from the original album. I want to be able to listen to all of these in Roon. How do I do this?
Roon doesn’t eliminate them. There is an option in Settings > General, which decides how they are displayed: “Show hidden tracks and albums”.
If set to Yes, all versions of an album will be shown side by side directly in the My Albums view.
If set to No, only one version (whatever you chose as the primary version) will be shown directly in My Albums. If you go to that album, the other versions of this album in your library will be listed under the VERSIONS tab.

Wow, that’s great to know, thank you, Suedkiez. If listening in shuffle play, does Roon play from all versions or do you have to select the version you want Roon to play? And if you don’t designate a version, what makes Roon decide?
If there is one local version and the others are from streaming services, then the local version is normally by default the primary version unless you choose otherwise.
If there are several local versions, I think the one with the highest resolution is by default the primary.
There is always one primary version, I think, you can’t have „none“ as primary.
If all versions are from streaming, and if you have more than one streaming service, the service is chosen based on your setting for https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/streaming-content-preferences
Within the chosen streaming service, it is again the version with the highest resolution that is primary by default. If there is more than one version with the same resolution, I suppose there are additional criteria for which one is chosen automatically, but I don’t know what those are.
In any case you can pick one.
I’m not sure really, I never shuffle. I think it would prefer the primary version, but can’t confirm.
