Stream from mobile device to Roon

Hi, I was wondering if it’s possible to stream audio files from my phone to Roon. I searched the forum but could not find a topic about this.

In my particular use case, I record music with my phone during rehearsals with my band. Back at home I want to be able to stream these files directly to Roon.

Does anyone know if this is or will be possible?

Roon does not currently accept an incoming stream. In the tinkering section there are posts about using Icecast to simulate an internet radio station which you can then add as a station in Roon.

Thanks! I’ll add a feature request for this when I get around to it.

The Icecast idea would be much quicker.

Thanks, I’ll try that.

Just wondering why you don’t just save the files to your local library?

You could set up a watched file in something that syncs like Dropbox. Save the file there from your mobile and it should Appear in Roon.

Yeah, but that’s just too much of a hassle for my taste

Never tried it, but would it be possible to designate your phone’s storage as a watched folder as long as the phone is on the network? Optionally install the roon control app on your phone.

Or just copy the files into a watched folder on your computer. This would probably be the easiest thing to do.
