Hello @kc.mouli10,

Thanks for sharing your issue here.

We have reviewed the diagnostics report from your machine and can confirm that there is corruption in your database.

The Cause

We also analyzed the health of your disk drive, and the good news is that the hardware itself is fine. However, the logs indicate that the machine is frequently being powered off in an unsafe way (e.g., unplugging it from the power socket without a proper shutdown procedure). This sudden power loss is the likely cause of the database corruption.

The Solution

To resolve this, you will need to set aside the corrupted database and generate a fresh one.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Stop RoonServer:

Go to the Nucleus Web Administration Interface and stop the RoonServer software.

  2. Access the Database:

Connect to the Nucleus Database Location from your computer (via Network/SMB).

  3. Rename the Folder:

Locate the folder named RoonServer and rename it to RoonServer_old.

  4. Restart RoonServer:

Return to the Nucleus Web Interface and Start the RoonServer software. This will automatically generate a new, clean database.

  5. Reconnect:

On your Roon Remotes, select “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database.

  6. (Optional) Restore Backup:

If you have a Backup from before the issue started, you can try restoring it now.

Going forward, please ensure you use the "Power Off" button in the Web Interface before unplugging the device to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks.

Hi @kc.mouli10,

We wanted to reach back out to confirm you saw the response above. It’s essential that you restore from your earliest available Backup as soon as possible to isolate the problem and prevent further corruption to your database.

Latent corruption can’t be solved by reinstalling alone or deleting files from your Roon library. Roon has found unexpected errors during regular database scanning, and these can quickly and silently propagate to affect more and more of your Roon database.

If you have regular Roon backups, try restoring from the earliest available Backup. Otherwise, you will unfortunately need to reset the database fully via the instructions above.

We’re eager to answer any questions you might have. Thank you.
