Describe the issue

Roon suddenly stopped working on October 16th and cannot be detected by Control4 or OVRC, and Roon itself is unable to connect to my Roon Core server. All connectors are tight and I have reset the server, the network and every other device in my system. The subnets match... System: Control4 controller, Pakedge network distributor, Eero mesh network router; all devices are connected via Ethernet cables. Everything worked fine until sudden, unexplained failure on October 16th. Please help!

Describe your network setup

Good day @Jonathan_Winer !

Thanks for sharing this issue with us, we’ll try to help you.

First thing we can see from the analytics data report is that your Mac has multiple IP addresses within your home local network. Can you please remove either wi fi or ethernet connection and keep only one ? Thanks!

And the other thing is that we’d like to check your logs, but unfortunately your Nucleus does not seem to be reachable by us. So can you please find the Nucleus’s logs as per instruction here:

and upload to our Logs Storage:
https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/collection/8i5239cc05950ac07456889838d9319545a82/external
?

Also, please do not forget to set your Eero Mesh routers to the Bridge mode so they don’t create their own virtual network.

And the last but not least - please update your Roon Remote the latest version (2.55) in order to match your server version.

Looking forward to your reply!

Regards.

I uploaded the roon activity log data from the Mac, but I’m not sure that was the “log” data you were looking for. Should I log out and switch servers, using the Mac as the server, instead of the Nunleus?

Hello @Jonathan_Winer ,

The logs we are looking for are from your Nucleus, after connecting to it using your Mac. It doesn’t look like your Nucleus is powered on from our end, is the power button glowing? If you try to plug the Nucleus HDMI into a TV or a monitor and ensure that the Nucleus is powered on, what is displayed, if anything? Let us know, thanks!

No image appears when I connect Nucleus to my TV. Roon support has stopped responding to my emails. I assume a bench repair is needed. Please send me an RMA and return label with instructions.

Good day @Jonathan_Winer !

In case your Nucleus device has stopped responding and does not power on or show any image on connected monitor you’d need to open a ticket to RMA team.

For this please open a new support ticket and in the first Typeform question select option “I am having issue with my Nucleus Hardware”.

Then it will proceed to creating a ticket for hardware maintenance.

Have a nice day!

Regards.
