Description of Issue

Suddenly the Discover feature in Roon is not working for me. When I click in the section on the homepage, the Roon symbol pulsates as if it is thinking but it just continues on and on.

Please help.

Jack

What is the build number of your Roon software? I assume that you are using the “all-in-one” version of Roon on your Dell (i.e. it is both the Roon Core and the Roon Control [user interface])?

Hi, @Ayax_Conde, thank you for your report. I requested a diagnostics report from your machine and it looks like the Discover page does not load because it encounters an album with broken file tag data. Unfortunately, the report does not point at the exact album but it indicates that this album has an issue the release date data in the file tags. The faulty piece of data is 2017/170/0. Seeing as you said it only started to appear recently, could you, please, tell me, how many new albums have you imported recently?

Thanks!

It could be over 100 albums I guess. I have been expanding my collection recently. I am not against reloading Roon or rebuilding the DB if you think that will help. Please let me know.

Thanks

Jack

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, rebuilding the database will not help since this problem is related to the media you imported to your library. Let’s try finding this faulty album with a simple first step. Seeing as the release date which breaks the Discover page starts with 2017 and this problem has started to appear recently for you, I’d suggest doing the following:

  1. Go to Albums → Browser → Focus
  2. Using the Years column focus on albums released in 2017
  3. Then use “Added in the last” and pick an timeframe of when you started expanding your library

Then, unfortunately, it’s going to be a manual search procedure which is going to require removing albums which are matching these focus criteria.

  1. Go to an album’s storage location p
  2. Move it somewhere outside of you watched folder
  3. Go to the Discover page
  4. See if it loads

Sorry for inconvenience.

I did as you said. Luckily I got to the folder without enormous hassle. All good now. Thanks
