Description of Issue

I have enjopyed more than a year, and I bought a lifetime subscription at the end of last year. It was normal until two weeks ago. As usual, I moved my core notebook moved from Place 2 to Place 1. Suddenly Roon does not open at all. There was no sign or symptom at Place 2 two weeks ago, but nothing happens at Place 1 last week when I click Roon icon on the PC.

So, I did Uninstall Roon and Download and install again.

After finish of installation I clicked the Icon but nothing happens. I checked windows compatibility box after clicking the right button of mouse on the icon and confirmed the box is unchecked.

Please help me. I am frustrated much. I got a life-time membership recently!

I too have been having this problem for more than 2 weeks and it still hasn’t been fixed.

This is my first time that I can’t fix a softwear problem by unistall-install. Isn’t it wierd? I suspect this is related to subscription. After finishing install again, clicking led me to the folder containing bank certificates/verification files. I feel totally messed up. Little hope to solve this issue.

When you uninstalled Roon, did you check the Settings and Databases box to uninstall them as well? (Note: if you do this, you should have a Roon Backup available to restore later, since removing these will cause the new installation of Roon to start with a fresh and empty database).

Yes, I did check only on Application Files as you show.

So you could try deleting the Settings and Databases as well to see if that gets you back up and running. Be aware that you will lose all your settings and edits unless you have a Roon Backup available.

If you have a Roon Backup, then when you start up the new Roon, you should see the login screen - don’t log in, but click the “Restore a Backup” button to restore the Backup.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a Roon Back up. Should I have made it? I have not thought of this kind of disaster. The cost might be losing all the playlists and favorite albums? I think I should decide to make all them again unless I find some other way to recover Roon to the previous normal satus.

I am going to come to LG service center who can examine the computer side next weekend. If I don’t find a solution, I will do that as the last trial.

Hey @hoonsung_jeh,

Ben with the support team here, thanks for taking the time to write in! I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with Roon on your windows core.

I wanted to check in to see how things are going? It doesn’t look like you’ve had an active core device on your account recently.

I’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

Hello, Ben

Let me update about my Roon. Yes, You are right. I don;t have an active Roon core device.
I went to LG service center and let the crew check my computer. He said that there is little room for memory and hard disk for reinstallation of Roon. I already tried reinstalling with uninstaling including settings and Databases, but it did not work. I mean Roon did not install successfully. The crew said I have two options. 1) Reinstall Windows - It means erase all and start from blank, as you know. or 2) Buy a new computer for Roon and other streamers. It could be a separate computer for music only.
I am considering option 2. Now I am managing with other SWs such as BluOS or DLNa for listening
music.
My question is how large space in memory and SSD is required for installing Roon. It looks like a big monster eating computer’s capacity. Anyway I am going to separate computers for working and for music streaming. It will cost another $1,000. ( I already paid $1,000 for life-long prescription of Roon.)
Presently, Blu OS seems better than Roon, although it specifies hardwares. (but it is the same for Roon)

Hey @hoonsung_jeh,

Thanks for the update! Here is more information on Roon’s requirements:

Thanks!
