Please let me know if you need more informations.

Thanks in advance.

In the log I have found these errors :

09/30 13:17:05 Warn: [metadatasvc] FAIL [353] https://metadataserver.roonlabs.net/md/4/updatemetadata?uid=&lid=&token=&metadataid[]=7b004d5430303236

The credential are correct, I am able to login to my Roon Account.

When I run Roon client and try to login with Roon credential, I found these messages in log file :

09/30 13:22:21 Trace: [fiveaccountserver] GOT {“status”:“Success”,“profiles”:[{“id”:“”,“name”:“Paolo”,“birthdate”:“19640000”}]}

09/30 13:22:30 Warn: [broker/accounts] failed to auth: Result[Status=Unauthorized]

Please note that it is not the complete log.

After the lines above, in the log file I found the error from [updatemetadata] :

09/30 13:23:26 Warn: [updatemetadata] error in updatemetadata: Result[Status=Unauthorized]

Maybe the database is corrupted and I need to rebuild it ?

I have restored the last database (2.0 version) from the backup.
Same issues.

I hope there will be a solution without reinstall the software.

As per my other post, the only way I have found to try to use the Roon Server is to install a new linux server, as I have no response on how to fix the old one, that brokes after upgrading to 2.0

The installation was ok, but now, when I run Roon on my pc, I’m stuck with two messages :

  • the already famous “Are you online ?”

  • the new one, regarding the old server, which I cannot de-authorize : when i click the button the page refresh but nothing change, without any error.

Maybe the 2.0 version was released too early ?
Maybe upgrade the previous version was not such a great idea ?
Maybe I haven’t had any answer because the 2.0 version is too buggy and the support is too busy ?

Is there a way to use the software or I should give up ?

My next renewal is on October 29, and it makes no sense for me to pay for a software I can use.

I’ve moved your above post into your existing Support topic. Let’s keep things together to help Support diagnose your issue? Thanks.

Hi @Paolo_Maggio ,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, we’re experiencing a large volume of tickets following our 2.0 release.

Is there any change in behavior if you first clear out the old Roon database and then reinstall and restore from a backup?

What happens if you try to run Roon outside the VM, do you still have login issues? Or does the issue only occur when you run Roon in the VM? I would double-check VM settings and ensure that all RoonServer traffic is allowed to pass freely.

Hi, thank you for the reply.
Actually I have reinstalled Roon Server on a new Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine some days ago.
I did a fresh install and now everything works. I have also tried Roon Arc, that works perfectly.
I didn’t use the old server anymore. I don’t know what the problem was, aside the different version of Ubuntu I have installed and configured the new server in the same way as the old.

Now I’m running version 2.0 build 1133.

I think I can close the ticket.

Thanks.
