Please advise: At the moment I use Roon via my MacBook Pro with m1 chip. Since I have to take the MacBook with me regularly and then want to keep the option to stream available for the other family members, I want to find another solution.
I want to maintain the quality of Tidal as much as possible. What is the best solution for me? What is the best choice? Nuc, Apple mini M1 or M2, Z1 or something else. (Unfortunately I can’t afford Grimm

I would purchase a Roon Nucleus One for $500 if it’s available where you live. Set it up at home and use Roon ARC on your phone or tablet away from home. If the Roon Nucleus One is not available where you live, then either a NUC or Mac Mini running Roon server at home.
Of course, if you want to pay for two Roon subscriptions, you can run a Roon server at home and a second Roon server on your laptop away from home. That’s what I do.

Thank you for your message. We hear from various reports that there are problems with the Roon nucleus one. You hear good stories about the Apple mini. But I don’t have any experience with it. I’m going to save quite a lot of files. I think I need to connect an external SSD drive. Hopefully he will play fast and flawlessly. There are differences, of course, but I don’t know what to look for.
What worked best for me was a NUC. You can probably get one (depending on where you are) with an i3 or i5 CPU for not much money. I found installing ROCK to be the easiest path to take, but if you need to have fun, you can always try a Fedora or DietPi Linux install.
