Support “Pre-Add” Albums and Upcoming Releases from TIDAL/Qobuz

I would love to see Roon support pre-release albums in a similar way to Apple Music.

Many users discover upcoming releases weeks or months before release day. Today I usually have to use Apple Music because I can add an unreleased album to my library, and it automatically becomes available on release day.

It would be great if Roon could offer something similar for supported streaming services such as TIDAL and Qobuz.

Suggested workflow:

  • Display upcoming albums from TIDAL/Qobuz (when available).

  • Allow users to add unreleased albums to their Roon library.

  • Automatically replace the placeholder with the full album on release day.

  • Optionally notify the user when the album becomes available.

  • Include upcoming releases in the artist page and in New Releases.

This would make Roon the central place not only for listening, but also for tracking future releases without relying on another music service.

Roon can support this already, but it is dependent on the streaming service providing the metadata.

There was a time when new releases appeared on the release date, i.e. the metadata was already with Roon. Likewise, some albums would show up with one or two early release tracks.
