Description Of Issue
Switched from ROCK (VM on Proxmox)) to Windows 11.

I followed these steps:

  • Back up of my ROCK
  • Installed Windows 11 app
  • On the 1st panel ‘Connect to your Roon Server’, I opted for Setup a Roon Server on this PC
  • On the next panel “Waiting for Soon Server”, I clicked Start Roon Server
  • After 30’’ or so, the panel reappeared “Waiting for Roon Server”
  • Meanwhile, in the system tray I see Roon Server Status: running
  • If I now go to my Mac, opening the Roon app the Server is found, but it’s stuck on Initializing, and I can’t click on the Connect button.
  • Back on my Windows PC if I click on “Open Roon” in the system tray icon I get the same as on my Mac, Initializing, can’t click on Connect

I’ve run ROCK since I started with Roon, so not sure what to do here.

Looking forward to your help,
Zee.

Good day @ZeGB !

The issue you are facing might be happening because of inconsistency of date formats used on Windows and on Linux.

To resolve this, you will need to adjust your Windows regional settings so that the decimal symbol is set to a dot (.) instead of a comma (,).

1. Change the Decimal Symbol in Windows

  1. On your Windows PC, open the Control Panel.
  • Quick way: press Win + R, type control, and press Enter.
  1. Go to:
    3.Clock and Region* → Region.
  2. In the Region window, click Additional settings….
  3. In the Numbers tab, find the field Decimal symbol.
  4. Change the value from a comma (,) to a dot (.).
  5. Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

After that please try to restore backup again and check if it is working.

Regards.
