How can I switch playback from PCM to DSD in roon?

Describe your network setup

All my network devices are standard devices and are finally talking to my SGM I just want to know how to switch playback from PCM to DSD

Hello @Steve_Ferro ,

Looking over your account diagnostics, it looks like you have a T+A PDP3000 registered, I assume that this is the device you are trying to output DSD to? Looking over the PDP3000 manual, it looks like DSD is supported, but you need to have the Windows driver installed from their support page:

https://www.ta-hifi.de/en/support/hv-serie/support-pdp-3000-hv/

After installing the driver, you’ll want to then play DSD content directly, or if you don’t have any DSD, you can use Roon’s MUSE (DSP Engine) to upsample to DSD. More information about upsampling can be found here:

Hope this helps!

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
I do have a TA dac and my system had been setup to play back DSD, I lost all that after a roon update and roon could no longer recognize my server, that has been resolved and I now have music playback but no DSD. I’m sure the driver is still there, I just hope to get guidance as to how to access the playback resolution and how to change it. Thank you

Hey @Steve_Ferro,

The link Noris shared above should help you with your above question:

Once you’ve confirmed your system can again handle DSD, test out using a sample rate filter and upsample your content accordingly.
