Is Roon available for this NAS? And if it does - does it run reasonably well?

Roon requires systems to have a 64 bit processor. The specs for the DS216j indicate a 32 bit processor, so it will not run Roon internally.
However, that NAS is perfectly fine for serving your music files to any computer which is already running Roon.
