Description of Issue
Ok this was working perfectly under DSM 6.xxx, until i updated the sinology NAS to DSM 7.x. I deinstalled Roon app and RoonServer_Synology_DSM7_x86-64_20220216 and reinstall all again, but it doesn’t work on the Sinology Nas Core. I have tried reinstalling roon server and even uninstalling and installing it again but it doesn’t work. It works fine when i set up a roon core on the macbook pro 2018, latest mac os version.
My devices see the core but under it says connecting with a red dot by it (see picture)
I created a new post for you so it does not interfere with the previous one.
In the first screenshot, I would check the firewall settings of the NAS as well as any Remotes and confirm exceptions are created for Roon and RAATServer.
The second screenshot is not relevant as your Core is on the Synology NAS. Roon OS is relevant only if your Core is on a Nucleus or ROCK system.
I allowed Roon server 9003 and Roon server 9100-9200 in the Nas Firewall setting
and also allowed Roon server 9003 and Roon server 9100-9200 in the Router setup.
I tried to find out RAATServer but i don’t see it.
i have disabled the firewall right now and it does work.
so it means that there is something wrong with the way i setup the firewall.
i don’t know how to do it : i’m not good on this
There should be a log file on the Synology that pertains to its firewall. Easiest thing to do is enable the firewall again, try using a Roon remote again, and check the log for blocked ports coming from the remote’s IP. Or, if you don’t find it necessary to lock things down that tightly you could just permit all TCP/UDP traffic from the remote’s IP as I mentioned before. I’ve had to perform a similar exercise with my Ubuntu based Roon Core multiple times in the past because of updates changing/adding port numbers.
