Description of Issue -

What is the exact port forwarding error message you see in the Roon Settings → ARC tab? Roon ARC won‘t be able to access Roon Core.
This is the log file:

{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:502,“error”:“error: Error: connect ECONNREFUSED 91.aaa.bbb.ccc:55002, response code: undefined, body: undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“91.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}
}

I have made all the recommended settings in the NAS including port forwarding in my Lancom router. Unfortunately, I always get the above error message.

Did you adjust the firewall to allow for the inbound connections?

Yes i think so. In the firewall settings of the Synology I’ve opened the ports 50001 and 50002 which are the UPNP ports. In the ARC Setting in Roon it shows 50002.
When i start the app it shows „RoonMedia“, which is the location of the Roon Core,
but it tells that I have no access from outside……

Your Lancom may need updates to the firewall rules as well.

If I understand this correctly, it means,
that in addition to port forwarding, i may also need to tell the Lancom firewall to open the ports?

Yes. From a quick read the Lancom is a bit more advanced than a normal consumer router. Because of that, it does not modify the firewall just because you added a port forwarding rule. You need to modify the firewall to match the port forwarding.

Ok, thanx a lot. But unfortunately i don‘t know how to handle that.

Hi @Sven_Hanke,

Digging around a little for instructions specific to Lancom, I believe you’ll find an index of port forwarding rules that you can manage by entering the administration page for your LAN and navigating to IP router > Masquerading > Port forwarding table. It’s known as “inverse masquerading” in the parlance of Lancom’s systems.

You’ll need to specify a start and end port. The interface should resemble the one below. These port assignments should be identical and should match the Port number listed in Roon → Settings → Roon ARC (usually in the ~55000 range). List the static IP address of your Roon Core in the Intranet address field.

Hi Connor,

thanx a lot for your tip, but that‘s what i‘ve done
Unfortunately on this site i’m not able to send you a screenshot of my settings….

Do any of the ARC ports show-up on this table?

The Lancom docs make it difficult to give you direct instructions. But you can see what, if any, firewall rules are in place from this table:

Good morning,

no and no.

ok, good then its not a firewall issue. Support may have to help you from here. I’d need to know more about your network configuration to understand. Real IP addresses, topology, etc.
